November 2014

The Lancaster County Historical Society will hold “Introduction to the History and Art of Quilts” on Tuesday, 18 November. The workshop will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The workshop will highlight 10 quilts, including several Amish-made quilts from the Esprit Quilt Collection.  There is a limit of 15 people for this workshop, so register early. For more information, go to LancasterHistory.com.  
 

Dr. Johnathan White, will hold a lecture and book signing as part of the Lancaster County Historical Society’s Presidential Lecture Series. The session is titled "Emancipation, the Union Army, and the Re-election of Abraham Lincoln." It will be held on Wednesday, 19 November from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Historical Society, located at 230 N. President Avenue, Lancaster. For more information, go to LancasterHistory.com.
 

December 2014

Mary Boomsma & Stan White will speak on "Robert Fulton: More than a Steamboat" as part of the Lancaster County Historical Society’s Regional Colloquium on Thursday, 11 December. The lecture is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. at the Historical Society, located at 230 N. President Avenue, Lancaster. For more information, go to LancasterHistory.com.  
 

Looking ahead to 2015
The library at the Chester County Historical Society will be closed January for what the CCHS is calling “The Big Dig.” During January, the CCHS will be updating the library and its collections.
 

The Chester County Historical Society will hold its 2015 Antiques Show at the Phelps School from 3 - 5 April 2015.

The NGS 2015 Family History Conference will be held 13–16 May 2015 in St. Charles, Missouri, at the Saint Charles Convention Center. More info to come closer to the event.
